Brick kilns

In the area of the project many tribal people migrate away from home to work in destructive brick kilns. These create erosion of fertile top-soil.  (10% of our area already stripped and growing each year). In return for relatively big money the soil is lost and any further farming produced low-yields and low income.  There is  unacceptable air pollution from using coal to bake the bricks.
Family dysfunction is a problem – children are either pulled out of school to accompany the parents and may end up working, or they are left behind.
