One year on…

  • secured 35 year lease;installed 1 recycled steel and woven thorn boundary fence
  • built water catchment facility – recharges the aquifer and supplies water for 2 months after the rains stop
  • creating 4 durable eco-shelters:
  • hosted 20 volunteers and at least 100 international and Indian visitors
  • provided 1300 man-days of work in the local community
  • developed excellent relations in the community and environmental networks
  • planted over 300 mixed fruit and forest trees; experimenting with medicinal herb bed, grew rce, dahl, sesame, vegetables and salad  started soil restoration
  • established vermi and regular composting facilities
  • using ancient Indian agricultural techniques –  pure breed cow and calf
  • installed solar powered pump in borewell 147ft deep
